Current Volunteer Needs
Holiday meal preparation – Come to Posada Esperanza with the ingredients to cook a holiday meal. If you have time, please stay to cook together with the ladies of Posada and enjoy the meal together.
Weekday education leader – Come to Posada Esperanza to teach a class or facilitate a discussion group on Tuesday or Wednesday morning from 8:30am to 9:30am. A rotating schedule of English, health topics, parenting topics, and personal wellness are great. Spanish proficiency and an ability to committ for three months is required.
Homework Tutoring – Come to Posada Esperanza one afternoon or evening a week to tutor children with their school work. When the children have completed their homework we need help giving each child an opportunity to read books.
Appointment Advocacy- drive a family to their appointment and help to make sure that they have understood all of the needed information and they have communicated their needs.
Cleaning – Come roll up your sleeves and help us make the house feel clean and beautiful, a true service to single mothers!
Organize a donation drive – We are always in need of diapers, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and shampoo. A donation drive is a fun way to encourage your friends and neighbors to pitch in.
Adopt a Room – You and your group can adopt a room in one of the Posada houses to remodel. That could mean anything from a new coat of paint to installing new windows or buying a new dresser or putting art on the walls.
We always welcome new faces and fresh ideas here at Posada so contact us and get involved!
