2018 is already proving to be a busy year for Casa Marianella! We’re thrilled to announce that on January 4th we will be closing on a nearby duplex, just blocks away from our adult shelter and all the services and warmth of Casa Marianella: case management, English classes, help getting medical care, home-cooked meals, and camaraderie with other residents.  This convenient location for our growing number of residents is also close to shops and public transportation.

ESL classes for refugees and asylum seekers in Austin, Texas.

With a total of 5 bedrooms, our new home for homeless immigrants and asylum seekers will provide transitional housing for 10 people at a time.  Our adult shelter has seen a large increase in the number of homeless immigrants seeking life-saving shelter; we are therefore in great need to expand our facilities.

We work tirelessly to serve the immigrant community in all that we do, fighting as best we can to never turn away asylum seekers who are in need of shelter after leaving detention.

The new duplex will have a major impact as our residents need only a few months in our shelters as we help them transition to self-sufficiency, which opens up space for new homeless immigrants.

With your generosity and support, we will be able to close on this new beautiful home and gear up for renovations in 2018. During the Christmas season, we hope you will find it in your heart to support our immigrant and asylum seeking community in ATX by helping us provide shelter to men, women, and children fleeing violence and oppression from across the globe.

We close on the house on January 4 and need an additional $89,300 to complete the $389,300 purchase of the home. Every donation, no matter how small, is significant to helping us reach our goal. We could not do this without you. Please join us in ensuring that we can always open our doors to everyone who needs our help.

With love,

The Casa Family
